HDTV LCD Facts You Must Know

HDTV. What do you know about it? High Definition TV is the glamorous name for it. A lot of brands that you can see in the market but how to choose the best for you?

What is HDTV 1080p?

1080p, or 1080 progressive, is a very high resolution video format and screen specification. It is one of the ATSC HDTV specified formats which includes 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. If you are even casually interested in Home Theater, you no doubt have heard the term 1080p, and if so, you most likely have been misinformed about it. Common misconceptions being spread include that there is no media to carry it, that you need an enormous screen to benefit from it, and on the whole you just shouldn’t care about it. Why the industry has persisted in the charade is beyond the scope of this piece, but suffice it to say, if you don’t care about 1080p now, you will.

Difference Between 1080p and 1080i?

In the laymen term:

1080p: 1920 *1080 progressive

1080i: 1920 * 1080 interlaced

Don’t put yourself stuck in the term itself. It is simple, 1080p is much more better quality than 1080i. It is because of how the picture been displayed.

What Brand of LCD should I Choose?

Brand is only the name. This is because most of the LCD maker will purchase the LCD panel from the manufacturer like Hitachi, Sharp, Philips, Samsung and etc. You can buy whatever brand to suit your need. Colour, brightness, white balance can be set later. I noticed that most of the Korean brand, the quality of the sound system is way too low compared to the Japanese.

Don’t Get Trapped With The Dynamic Contrast Ratio

Nowadays LCD maker tend to show off the dynamic contrast ratio rather than the real native contrast ratio. To make it simple, do you still remember the amplifier watt, difference between RMS watt and PMPO watt?

Take for an example:

Philips 32″ LCD - 30,000:1 (Dynamic Contrast Ratio) but the native contrast ratio is only 1,500.

When I looked around, only JVC is brave enough to show their native contrast ratio to the world.

Why my ASTRO Blurred, Not As Sharp As CRT?

Astro broadcasting is digital. Do not listen to the LCD salesman. They usually told the buyer that Astro broadcasting analogue. KU-Band is tailored made to boost more power to overcome the heavy rainfall problem. The problem with your LCD TV is, the resolution.

While LCD which are HD Ready or Full HD, the resolution is 1920*1080 while Astro not even the Standard Definition.

Astro isn’t even SDTV, it is using LDTV and using mpeg2 compression technology from the 90’s… i think the resolution is about 320×240 like VHS size..
plus, can u guys imagine watching astro on 42 inch 1080p (1920*1080) resolution, a 320×240 video been upscale to 1920×1080 resolution, and stretch from 4:3 to 16:9… how you expect it is going to look?

Either you like it or not, just grab any LCD and use the RCA cable to get connected. Don’t waste money to buy those expensive S-Video cable. If you want to use S-Video go ahead but remember S-Video can deliver only the standard definition quality of 480i or 576i. Still low and get worse when it upscale to 1920*1080 right?

Musuh Penuaan Yang Utama - Oksigen

Avoid these 10..

According to some scientists, u should
avoid these 10 habit:

1. No Breakfast

People who do not take breakfast are
going to have a lower blood sugar
level. This leads to an insufficient
supply of nutrients to the
brain "causing brain degeneration" .

2. Overeating

It causes hardening of the brain
arteries, leading to a decrease in
mental power.

3. Smoking

It causes multiple brain shrinkage and
may lead to Alzheimer disease.

4. High Sugar consumption

Too much sugar will interrupt the
absorption of proteins and nutrients
causing malnutrition and may interfere
with brain development.

5. Air Pollution

The brain is the largest oxygen
consumer in our body. Inhaling
polluted air decreases the supply of
oxygen to the brain, bringing about a
decrease in brain efficiency.

6. Sleep Deprivation

Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long
term deprivation from
sleep will
accelerate the death of brain cells.

7. Head covered while sleeping

Sleeping with the head covered
increases the concentration of carbon
dioxide and decrease concentration of
oxygen that may lead to brain damaging
effects.

8. Working your brain during illness

Working hard or studying with sickness
may lead to a decrease in
effectiveness of the brain as well as
damage the brain.

9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts

Thinking is the best way to train our
brain, lacking in brain stimulation
thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.

10. Talking Rarely

Intellectual conversations will
promote the efficiency of the brain

This week ...review

Dr. Peale was a wise man indeed, and the world needs more people who are so thoughtful and who live their lives on purpose as he did. Author of The Power of Positive Thinking, which sold well over 20 million copies, and founder of Guideposts Magazine, he was a success because he:a) Knew what his purpose was and b) He lived it every day.

I have to suspect that had Dr. Peale have lived long enough to become a faculty member of Success University, he would have loved the program and been one of the strongest advocates for it.

Why?

Because the company, just like its founder, Matt Morris lives with a purpose. His purpose, much like that of all of its top leaders is a genuine love for people and helping them to reach for and attain their God-given potential and to live life to its fullest.

As we travel in to Dallas for the Leadership Conference, from all points on the compass, I only wish that every student who has ever enrolled could be there with us. I say that because there is magic in events such as this. Magic and power.

Those who attend will get the powerful team building skills of world-class leaders handed to them. I can tell you from past experiences that some of those who attend will have their lives changed by the experience.

Beyond the training is the opportunity to make friends with others who are also building a Success University business.

It might even be the inspirational words of Les Brown, who speaks to us on Friday night, or from Matt, Johnny Wimbrey, or Tony Michael when they present their messages.

It might be when Ned & Cheryl Rae, Trisha Smith, Chris & Julie Chojnowski, Mike Ward or Daegan Smith when they conduct training sessions for how to achieve maximum success. It may even be some thing I say on Sunday. For many, something will happen that will transform their lives... forever!

If you cannot attend the Leadership Conference of Success University, know that we will miss you. All of those who read the First Bell each week, or dial in to the faculty calls, your company loves you and wants you to taste the sweetness of true success.

So go for it! We will be there to walk with you every step of the way!
